Welcome to the home page of Blood Transfusion. The aim of Transfusion is to promote and provide advice and support to clinical teams on safe & appropriate transfusion practice to ensure Right Blood, Right Patient, Right Time.

Transfusion is run by a team of Biomedical Scientists, Associate Practitioners, Consultant Haematologists and Transfusion Practitioners. The department is committed to providing the highest possible standard of service to patients and clinical teams by providing accurate results of blood tests and timely issue of blood component/products for patients.

The department is UKAS ISO:15189 accredited, MHRA compliant and is open 24/7 365 days a year.
